Just got this note from Shana. Phil's dad is a fine man and I know the family would appreciate our prayers.
Shana wrote: As most of you know, Mr. Keenon came through the arteriorgram/stents pretty well. However, last Fri. he came down with an intestinal infection called c-diff. They called in an infectious disease dr. who has been working with them all weekend - don't know what exactly they were doing because we are not allowed to go see him due to this infection.
The dr. came back in this morning and was not pleased with how he was doing so he sent him for a CAT scan. Mary Glenna (Phil's sis) called a few minutes ago and said that the CAT scan showed that his colon is severely enlarged and if it does not go down in the next 24-48 hours, they will have to operate because it could rupture. He is very weak and we are extremely concerned. Today they put in a "pick" line(?) to feed him because they don't want him to have anything by mouth. Please keep Mr. K and Mrs. K (she is exhausted but will not leave him) in your prayers

We were so sorry to hear about Mr. Keenon's infection. We are praying for them also.
Just got this update from Shana:
Phil, the girls, and I went over to Huntsville today to check on Mr. K. The girls and I did not go in to see him, but Phil did. The doctors are saying that the x-ray today does not show any perforation or leakage of the colon and he is not so swollen - so then probably no surgery. It would have been a very major ordeal (removing the colon) - we are so thankful. Mr. K is feeling some better today but still not able to get up because he is so weak. Evidently he had been on so many antibiotics in the last few months and Leviquin last week by IV that it killed all the good bacteria in his gut that would fight this. Hopefully he will be able to soon get back on his feet and come home.
